Sustainability Expert to Speak at College of Business Dean’s Lecture Series

Marc Epstein, a noted author and sustainability expert, will present his recent research as part of the Oregon State University College of Business Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series on Wednesday, June 7, at OSU. The lecture begins at noon in Peavy Hall Room 130 and is free and open to the public.

A research professor of management at Rice University in Houston, Epstein has taught at the Stanford and Harvard Business Schools. He also has been a senior consultant to leading corporations and governments for more than 25 years.

His research focuses on how companies can integrate social and environmental issues into management decisions. Those ideas also form the basis for his lecture: "Sustainability and Social Innovation: Business' Role in Improving Both Organizations and Society."

Epstein is the author of 14 books and more than 100 professional papers. His work has earned several awards, including the 1999 Choice Awards for Outstanding Academic Books in business and labor. In addition to his literary successes, Epstein is editor-in-chief of the academic journal Advances in Management Accounting.
