"Outsourcing's Effect on Local Communities" is the next topic for the "Is Sustainability Good Business" Seminar Series

Tim Nesbitt, president of the Oregon AFL-CIO; and Kevin Cummings, communications representative of the Western United States-International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; will explore "Outsourcing's Effect on Local Communities" on Monday, April 19, from 6-7:20 p.m. in Milam Auditorium on the OSU campus.

The seminar is the third part of the 2004 Emerging Topics in Business seminar series focused on "Is Sustainability Good Business."  The series, occuring every Monday evening through May 17, will focus on the relationship between business and sustainability. The series will:

  • Assess successes and failures in implementing sustainable business practices.

Nesbitt and Cummings will look at the impact on people of such business practices as outsourcing and moving jobs overseas.

The series is free and open to the public.
