Hewlett-Packard Honors Student LeadersEvery year Hewlett-Packard presents the student leadership award to undergraduate and graduate students from the College viewed as leaders among their peers and in the community. This year's winners were undergraduate Justin Geddes and graduate student Michael Smith.
Professor Jack Drexler nominated Justin Geddes for his superb teaching of the Scandinavian Orientation and his success with leadership throughout the University. Michael Smith was nominated by Ray Brooks because he stood out in the MBA program as a known leader through his strong connections with faculty and work on improving the program. Both students agreed that this award was important because students don't get enough recognition for leadership, Geddes added, "It is nice to have corporate ties with the business community." Hewlett-Packard's Steve Leishman awarded each winner a new HP printer. |
