Faculty and Staff RecognizedThe annual faculty and staff awards dinner was held this year on Thursday, May 22 in the OSU CH2M Hill Alumni Center to recognize outstanding College of Business faculty and staff. This year's winners include Tom Dowling, Raymond Brooks, Ray Tanner, Jonathan King, Susan Matson, Jack Drexler, Roger Graham, Steven Lawton, and Bruce DeYoung.
Tom Dowling won the Byron Newton Excellence in Teaching Award due to his commitment to teaching and his exceptional reviews from students, alumni, and co-workers.
Raymond Brooks was awarded the Excellence in Scholarship award because of the quantity and quality of his research.
Ray Tanner and Jonathan King were awarded the outstanding service awards. Ray Tanner was given the award for his imaginative approaches to business learning and King received the award for originating noon discussion sessions for faculty.
Susan Matson won the Exemplary Service award for her service and more than 20 years of dedication to the College of Business.
The Gazette-Times Faculty Leadership award went to Jack Drexler for his leadership in the College, exemplified with the Enron Implosion Seminar that impacted the community as well.
Lastly, The Newcomb Faculty Meritorious Performance Award was given to Roger Graham, Stephen Lawton, and Bruce DeYoung. Graham was given this award due for the consistent quality of his work for the college and the quality of his research. Lawton received this award for his work on the sustainability initiative. DeYoung obtained the Newcomb award for his work with originating the Business and Information Technology extension program. The COB is fortunate to have faculty and staff that constantly go above and beyond faculty expectations. |
