The historic Weatherford Hall is being restored and renovated, kept alive with numerous contributions given to dedicate residential rooms, terraces, the cyber cafe, a kitchen and more.
Scott and Judy South made a contribution to name the third floor lounge. Scott South '83 is a former Business Advisory Council member and won the 2002 College of Business Entrepreneur Award. He is the CEO of Stevens Water Monitoring Company. Leon and Erika Giles provided funds for the kitchen/dining area. Leon '64 became one of the founders of the insurance company, Sprague Isreal Giles, Inc., and Erika is currently balancing a career in social work and writing. Gordon Clemons '65 contributed to name the theater. He is currently Chairman, CEO, and president of CorVel Corporation in Irvine, California. Jim Parkin '86, who is the chair of the COB Business Advisory Council, donated to name the café terrace. He is a partner of Deloitte and Touche in Seattle. Jim Schupp '79, gave a gift to name his old dorm room. He is now Senior Vice President, Investments, with Smith Barney. Thanks to these gifts and others, Weatherford will provide its residents with modern living conveniences embedded in a building with a long rich history. |
